About THE HAWK

• My name is Clifford Jarvis, inventor of THE HAWK - the original handheld golf ball roundness testing device.
  
  During my 50-year career at one of the top country clubs in Texas, I met and spoke with many professional golfers.
  
  I got the idea for THE HAWK by watching some of those professional golfers cull their golf balls before each round. They carefully inspected each ball, rolled it in their hands, and made sure it was perfect. They threw out as many as 50% of the balls without ever having struck them or rolled them on a green. They did this because the balls were not perfectly round, and professional golfers know lopsided golf balls can be unpredictable in flight.
  
  It occurred to me that most golfers would want to improve their game by culling out-of-round balls the same way, but without having decades of experience it would be almost impossible to do it by feel like the pros.
  
  I decided that I could design, develop and produce a testing device to help the casual and semi-professional golfer in selecting the best golf ball for their game. Buying boxes of the top selling golf balls on the market. I was able to use my prototype to prove that 30% of them out of round, and would fade or slice even with a good swing. This would put that golfer in a difficult position for the next shot.
  
  Now with my testing device, THE HAWK, every golfer can quickly and easily check the trueness of his golf balls right on the course.
